An interesting week

For those of you who have been following Thai politics on the international news, you know it's been a bit dicey around here the last few days. Since Monday, we've been staying close to home, avoiding the whole mess downtown, and have actually had a relaxing week so far (it's spring break).

On Saturday we went to the Children's Museum with Khun Jun's family since Nong Play, her granddaughter, is in town. She came over as well a few days earlier to spend time with Kaj, and Tom organized a playdough-making bash. I don't know if Kaj will miss Nong Play (he is only two!), but we will certainly miss seeing them play together. Check out the hand-holding photos below. They're really sweet little buddies!

We had a peaceful Easter day - a low-key egg hunt around the apartment, to church early for Tom to hang a new set of banners, brunch as a family at a Lebanese restaurant, and time on the playground at school after Kaj's nap. I'm sad to report that taking a photo escaped me the entire day. AH!

On Monday, Tuesday and again today, Kaj, Leif and I went to a morning play group for toddlers while Tom worked on a new pastel. Our new friend Monica did a great job organizing age-appropriate activities with a combination of indoor and outdoor play, keeping in mind this is typically the hottest week of the year. After observing Kaj take part this week (and look forward to it each day), I am confident he will enjoy preschool this fall.

Here are some moments from the week. Here is one of my attempts of capturing the boys in their pjs....this is not easy!

Songkran Assembly

The ISB community says farewell to the departing teachers at the Songkran (Thai New Year) Assembly by honoring those who are leaving in a traditional water pouring ceremony. Later, Khun Patty, my assistant in Music, dragged me to the stage for a Thai Dance.
