One week and counting...

At our last visit to the OB/GYN before the C-section scheduled for next Saturday morning, we had to make sure everything was squared away with someone in admissions. Part of the process involves the viewing of several room options on a computer screen. As Tom and I confirmed the regular room would be just fine, Kaj added "Kaj put the Pack n' Play right there," as he pointed to the open area in the corner. Apparently, he either equates the hospital a hotel, or he wants in on the action! On the way home, we revisited the scenario in the book the Stroms gave us, "Waiting for Baby," where Grandma and Grandpa come to stay while Mom and Dad are at the hospital. I am really looking forward to little man's first meeting with baby brother. It's maybe the part of next weekend I'm looking forward to the most!
This photo's not the greatest, but I wanted to share Tom and Kaj's creation that has been a huge hit around our place this week (with Ella the cat as well). Mom, I know you wanted to see this...

OK, this took 10 minutes to load!

Kaj enjoying a burger at Chokchai Farm....did I mention he likes ketchup?

Our funny, funny boy

Tonight as we said a prayer before bed, Tom asked Kaj what he was thankful for. Kaj thought a moment, and then yelled, "Totem poles!" Yesterday at the zoo he was obsessed with pointing out the totem poles near the African animals (?), and they have been the main theme of his artwork over the weekend.

Regarding baby, #2 will likely be making an appearance on or around Valentine's Day. We had an ultrasound on Saturday, and he's doing great! We've decided (with our doc's advice) to have another C-section, and we will be scheduling the surgery with her at our next visit.

Kaj ended up staying home from our ultrasound appointment because it was scheduled for 11:30, right before his usual nap time, and he had a friend's birthday party at 3:30, so being rested was important. I showed him the pictures when he woke up, saying "Look, there's baby brother! Can you see his eyes, nose, etc.?" He immediately pointed at the picture above the profile shot and said, "How 'bout that ultrasound?" Clearly I hadn't realized he was so familiar with pre-natal vocabulary!

No photos seem to be loading now, but I'll try again later. :)
